Two clear engine personalities
The Raize is commonly offered with a choice of a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder (≈87 hp) and a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder (≈97–98 hp / 140 Nm) — the turbo gives noticeably stronger midrange performance for overtaking and loaded driving. Transmission is usually a CVT; some markets also offer manual options on lower trims.

Surprisingly spacious for its size
Though compact (overall length ≈ 4,030 mm), clever packaging delivers a boot around 369 L and a practical cabin with a high roof and useful load floor — Toyota claims class-leading luggage flexibility thanks to a movable deck board and fold-flat rear seats. Ground clearance is typically around 200 mm, giving a confident ride height for light rough roads.

Economy & real-world usability
Fuel economy varies by engine and market: the 1.2L tends to be the frugal choice (reported combined figures around 17–21 km/L in many cycles), while the 1.0T balances performance with good consumption (typical real-world figures depend on driving style). The 36-litre fuel tank limits range slightly but keeps weight and packaging efficient.

Practical tech & safety
Higher trims add modern kit: 9″ (or 8″) infotainment with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, blind-spot monitor, rear-cross traffic alert, LED lighting, and a digital driver display. Toyota/Daihatsu safety packages (Smart Assist / Toyota Safety Sense equivalents) are available in many regions for added peace of mind.

Drive character
Expect light, city-tuned steering and a comfortable ride. The turbocharged Raize feels brisker and more willing on highways; the 1.2L delivers smooth, economical commuting. AWD options are rare — most markets sell the Raize as FWD with the focus on low running costs and easy urban handling.
